Indosat Uses Intec's InterconnecT v7 to enhance growth and profitability |
London/Kuala Lumpur, August 3,
2005 - Intec, a global provider of business and operations support
systems (BSS/OSS, announced today that Indosat (PT Indosat), a fully
integrated communications service provider and the second largest
operator in Indonesia in both wireless and international business, is
upgrading to Intec's
InterconnecT v7 to drive growth and profitability
of its fixed and international business. InterconnecT v7 is the latest
generation of the world's most powerful, flexible and reliable system
for domestic, international and ITU-based billing and settlements. PT Indosat is Indonesia 's second largest telecoms operator, providing wireline, wireless, Internet, ISDN and leased line services, with over 12 million wireless subscribers, 0.5 million internet subscribers and over 30 percent market share in international business. Azinul J Adrian, VP of IT, Fixed Access Division, Indosat, said: An upgrade to InterconnecT v7 from Intec will improve the operator's ability to accurately and cost-effectively bill and settle, with all its national and international partners, for the full range of services it offers, from basic telephony to the most advanced next-generation services. We believe that Intec's entrenched market presence, expertise and track record will enable Indosat to optimise its business model through the rapid and cost effective launch of innovative products and services in the region, also creating competitive differentiation for Indosat as a significant player in the Indonesian market. InterconnecT v7 meets the functionality and performance requirements of a dynamic telecommunications market by dealing with both traditional and next-generation products and services in a single system, and with proven ability to handle national carrier traffic levels. InterconnecT v7 takes settlement to the next level by also supporting inter partner settlement for IP-based services offered over next generation networks. This includes multi-party settlement with a variety of enterprises such as content providers, for services including Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), content downloads and multimedia messaging. John Rocca, Managing Director, Intec Asia Pacific said: We are committed to continuing to help our customers simplify the way they do business and to create a strong competitive differentiation. InterconnecT v7 builds on our leadership in Asia-Pacific with a level of functionality and performance that other products simply cannot match, particularly in technically demanding, next-generation services and in operators with large traffic volumes. About Intec Intec is a leading Business & Operations Support Systems (BSS/OSS) vendor for fixed, mobile, MVNO and next-generation networks (e.g. WLAN, 3G and IP), with more than 700 installations of its products worldwide in 500 customers.
