September 12, 2005,
Redwood Shores, California Oracle today announced the availability
of Oracle Telecommunications Billing Integrator, a new applications
product offering that allows communications service providers (CSPs) to
integrate Oracle Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications
with third-party billing systems, eliminating the need to develop
customized integration solutions.
"Out-of-the-box integration between CRM and billing systems is a key
step toward improving convergent order management and customer service
capabilities - not only displacing the need for costly and
time-consuming custom integration, but also decreasing order cycle time,
reducing order fallout, improving revenue assurance and providing a
superior customer experience," said Yankee Group Executive Vice
President for Telecommunications Research, Robert J. Rich. "Service
providers looking to increase agility, cut costs and improve customer
satisfaction will welcome this advancement."
Oracle Telecommunications Billing Integrator allows CSPs to use
standards-based technology to connect previously siloed systems,
reducing integration time, cost and risk. The solution positions the
Oracle Customer Relationship Management modules within the Oracle
E-Business Suite as a unifying dashboard, providing a single source of
accurate data for customer interactions across any channel, including
the Internet, call centers and field sales organizations. Oracle
Customer Relationship Management allows users to capture, configure and
fulfill complex service orders, as well as manage accounts. With Oracle
Telecommunications Billing Integrator, CSPs can integrate these business
processes seamlessly with third-party billing systems to bill for
ordered services, respond to customer inquiries, and conduct post-sale
follow-up activities more efficiently and effectively.
"As telecommunications orders become more complex and customers demand
better service, communications service providers must rise to the
occasion," said Oracle Senior Director for Global Communications and
Media Industries, Yancy Oshita. "With Oracle Telecommunications Billing
Integrator, CSPs can leverage open standards and Oracle support to
improve their customer relationships and reduce the time and cost
associated with integrating their CRM system and third party billing
systems."
Leading billing-system providers - including Convergys Corporation
(NYSE: CVG), CSG Systems, Intec Telecom Systems and Portal Software -
recognize the benefits Oracle Telecommunications Billing Integrator
brings to the communications industry.
"Oracle's Telecommunications Billing Integrator has helped us to
expedite the integration of Convergys' Infinys [TM] Rating and Billing
with Oracle CRM for Convergys and Oracle clients who desire the rich
functionality of both products in a single, integrated solution," said
Convergys Corporation Senior Vice President for Advanced Development and
New Markets, Jeff Gordon.
"In today's competitive communications industry, telecom service
providers need solutions that leverage existing IT investments, while
enabling the provider to focus on delivering an excellent end-customer
experience," said CSG Systems Senior Vice President Sally Else. "By
collaborating with Oracle to create open, tailored solutions, we can
offer yet another way for service providers to leverage flexible billing
and customer care systems that retain their value over time."
"Oracle technology is vital to all of Intec's key billing products.
Making the integration of our solution to other systems as rapid and
cost-effective as possible is very important for the efficiency and
return on investment we offer to customers. We expect Oracle's
Telecommunications Billing Integrator to further enhance the quality and
speed of that integration," said Intec Telecom Systems Chief Operating
Officer for Products and Services, Gary Bunney.
"As communication and content service providers aim to differentiate
themselves by bringing innovative services such as next-generation
mobile content and complex payment and promotion options to market more
quickly, they need to ensure their back-office systems are up to the
challenge," said Portal Software Senior Vice President, Bhaskar Gorti.
"Portal is proud to be an early partner with Oracle in shaping the
Telecommunications Billing Integrator product, enabling service
providers to improve time-to-market and further reduce
cost-of-ownership."
