A new Emergency Gateway was announced by 911 Enable®. It is a software appliance that integrates with the enterprise network to automatically track phone moves and manage location data. Enterprises will have an opportunity, with advanced features, to simplify 911 administration, diminish liability concerns, and meet all state and federal E911 regulations.
This new Gateway meshes well with 911 Enable’s award-winning Emergency Routing Service (ERS). The Emergency Gateway captures the current location of the caller and forwards it to the ERS for completion to the appropriate Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), after 911 has been dialed. Connectivity with over 4,500 PSAPs across the US and a single national ALI database, which covers all 50 states, will be provided by the ERS.
“The location discovery features of the Emergency Gateway help to protect modern day enterprise deployments where employees move frequently on the corporate network and make use of advanced features such as shared line appearance and extension mobility” said Lev Deich, Director of 911 Enable. “In addition, it provides 911 support for the enterprise’s entire workforce, including employees working form remote branches, at home, and on the road.”
The Emergency Gateway includes Session Border Controller (SBC) functionality, allowing it to perform secure SIP outbound communication with the ERS. It has been designed to inter- operate with leading equipment manufacturers such as Cisco, Avaya and Nortel.
911 Enable will be showcasing the new Emergency Gateway and the Emergency Routing Service (ERS) at the upcoming VoiceCon Conference & Expo, March 17-20, 2008 at the Gaylord Convention Center, booth #723.
