JacobsRimell, a leading provider of customer-centric IP service fulfillment solutions, today announced at the SCTE conference the availability of APS(tm) ‘QuickStart,’ the latest implementation of its innovative Automated Provisioning System (APS).
“We have successfully implemented APS to multi-service cable and telecom service providers around the world, ranging from providers such as Comcast and UPC to Cbeyond and now Bermuda CableVision”, said David Jacobs, co-founder and CTO, JacobsRimell. “The APS QuickStart package will help Bermuda CableVision reach its goal to roll out Point-to-Point Data Services over a short time frame to its large subscriber base and also easily scale new services to new subscribers.”
Bermuda CableVision, the leading cable operator in Bermuda, will use APS QuickStart to more rapidly launch their High Speed Data (HSD) service. This solution will give Bermuda CableVision an automated and integrated platform to manage all of their HSD subscribers and provision all HSD related services, ultimately allowing them to launch new services by evolving rather than replacing their existing infrastructure.
JacobsRimell’s APS platform is distinguished by its unique information architecture, aggregating and normalizing all the customer, infrastructure and service information necessary for reliable multi-service delivery in one scalable reference configuration repository. APS QuickStart provides a packaged solution enabling rapid implementation using APS’s open and standardized integration ability. Being able to more rapidly implement new IP-based services utilizing existing infrastructure with lower capital and integration cost addresses a critical need of smaller cable and telecommunications providers. APS ‘QuickStart,’ while featuring the same proven modular architecture and components as JacobsRimell’s Standard APS package, enables Bermuda CableVision to capitalize on the key patented design feature of the JacobsRimell solution: allowing multiple products and services to be implemented and managed from a single operational platform, providing powerful yet intuitive customer self care and repair facilities.
“We chose JacobsRimell’s APS QuickStart package because it is a modular solution, allowing us to quickly launch multiple IP-based services from a single operational platform. Our immediate requirement is to couple HSD services with JacobsRimell’s open architecture to allow faster integration with our existing systems such as billing”, said Jeremy Elmas, General Manager, Bermuda CableVision. “With APS QuickStart, JacobsRimell has provided a means for an operator of our size to add value to the customer experience by introducing a variety of next generation services over time that can only be offered over advanced, high-capacity digital networks.”
