Clarity, the market leader in Unified Operational Support Systems (OSS), has been selected as a finalist for the prestigious TM Forum (TMF) Excellence Awards in its ‘Best Practices – Supplier or System Integrator’ category.
The Awards are highly respected in the industry and recognise leading suppliers for their operational excellence and innovative contributions. Competition for the awards has increased this year, with more than 40 companies successfully reaching the judging slate which was made up from an independent panel of experts. The six finalists were then selected through an open customer vote of more than 100 service providers around the world.
“This year’s nominations illustrate a real change of tactics in the industry,” said Nik Willetts, VP Communications, TM Forum. “The current economic climate is forcing companies of all sizes to think outside the box when it comes to transformation. We’re seeing more innovation: solutions that deliver real and significant OpEx savings through a model of continuous improvement, rather than major re-engineering effort. TM Forum Frameworks are providing the roadmap that ensures the success of the programs, both now and longer term. In short, it’s clear that TM Forum standards have never been more relevant.”
Clarity’s nomination for the Award outlines how its client, Telekom Malaysia, adopted the TM Forum Solutions Framework (NGOSS) to perform a major OSS transformation. Through this, Telekom Malaysia was able to reduce time to provision, reduce impacts of planned network activities on customer services, reduce time-to-market for new products and better exploit Next Generation Network (NGN) technologies.
“At Telekom Malaysia our solution was instrumental in their rationalisation of Inventory across the business, automation of fulfilment and aggressive roll-out of Next Generation Networks. We defined an incremental deployment plan which provided real business benefit early in the project and reduced risk at the same time,” commented Tony Kalcina, Founder and Chief Product Officer of Clarity. “As a result of the partnership shown between Telekom Malaysia and Clarity, plus the leadership guidance of the unifying NGOSS SID and TNA SOA framework, the project was very successful and we are delighted that the TMF recognises the innovative work we carried out by selecting us as a finalist for their award.”
The winner of the ‘Best Practices – Supplier or System Integrator’ category will be announced to an audience of more than 2,500 executives from the communications industry at the Forum’s flagship Management World 2009 conference on the morning of Wednesday, 6 May 2009.
