450connect and Comarch have signed a contract to deliver and implement the central IT-system of the German LTE450 radio network for critical infrastructure operators. Comarch, one of the leading IT companies in Europe, will provide the core IT platform for 450connect’s business and operations support systems (BSS/OSS).
Cologne-based 450connect is a joint venture of energy utilities that will build and operate the Germany-wide, highly-available and fail-safe LTE450 radio network for critical infrastructure operators by 2025. The company was assigned the 450MHz spectrum by the German Federal Network Agency in July 2021, for 20 years.
Comarch will offer the company, which focuses on critical voice and data applications in the B2B sector, a customized BSS/OSS system based on its state-of-the-art products. These include the Comarch IoT Connect, Comarch OSS Fulfillment and Inventory and Comarch OSS Assurance products.
Flexible and scalable IT solution for operational and customer support
The Comarch BSS solution enables 450connect’s customers to manage all wireless connections and other services such as ordering, monitoring, billing and reporting functions via a web portal as a central interface. As an alternative to web-based access, 450connect customers can also connect their respective corporate IT infrastructure directly to 450connect’s BSS. With Comarch’s integrated OSS modules, 450connect will control and monitor network operations and performance.
This allows 450connect to control and support all processes and functions within the 450connect applications, including network resource management and service assurance.
First go-live in 2023
“Comarch meets our high-quality requirements. The company convinced us with its flexible and scalable IT solution for operational and customer support, its sound technical know-how and its willingness to enter into a long-term partnership. With Comarch, we will be able to successfully implement our central IT platform within our time schedule”, says Carsten Ullrich, CEO of 450connect. The nationwide rollout of the 450 MHz radio network will be completed by 2025. Test operations with first customers will commence this year, with a view to launching services in the first regions in 2023.
“We are honored that 450connect appreciated our experience and decided to choose us as their partner to work on this unique project in Germany. Once again, Comarch is proving that, in dynamic projects such as this, where it is necessary to be ready to react flexibly and support the customer due to the changing environment, we are the best match. This cooperation confirms our comprehensive offer and proves that we are an expert in the field of OSS, BSS and IoT systems”, says Jacek Lonc, Head of Telco Sales and Business Strategy Division at Comarch.
