Comarch is launching a new Interactive TV product. Comarch’s NGTV solution allows operators to provide TV services on TVs, mobile phones, and personal computers
“Our solution is up-to-date with recent industry trends for convergence between computers, mobile phones, and digital television, but also the technical underpinning that is itself the convergence of Telco infrastructures and Web 2.0. We want to build a technological platform linking the Internet and television as we believe that TV will yet again become the favorite source of interactive information and home entertainment. We are also building a community of companies providing components and services for our solution, which we will offer together to NGTV operators. This means that soon users will be able to turn on the TV and shop, listen to music or the radio, play games, access exciting community services or take an active role in a TV show,” said Lukasz Luzar, the product’s creator and developer at Comarch S.A.
NGTV is aimed at telecom operators now offering broadband Internet access, and at 3G mobile operators. With NGTV, operators can offer subscribers compelling information services, online shopping, and dating and other exciting services including high quality video and audio. NGTV subscribers can also use the software provided to compile their own TV channels, while third parties can launch interesting multimedia services.
By deploying Comarch NGTV, operators can access new revenue streams based on monthly subscription fees, distribution of multimedia on-demand content, premium-service provision, and personalized advertising. NGTV also enables virtual interactive television operators who will function in the same way as Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs), i.e. via outsourcing.
