Comptel Corporation, an OSS software vendor for convergent mediation, charging, provisioning and network inventory, announced today the launch of the strengthened Comptel® Fulfilment – a suite of pre-integrated inventory and provisioning modules to cover end-to-end service fulfilment functionality from order capture to activation and reconciliation. The Comptel Fulfilment solution will help broadband and cable service providers meet the challenges of the growing demand and increasing competition for the delivery of services such as triple-play (voice, data, and video), by improving the cost, speed and quality of provisioning, to the obvious benefit of their customers.
Comptel acquired the Incatel NIMS inventory business from EDB Telecom in October, 2005. This inventory solution, first launched in 1992, has been deployed at a number of incumbent operators. Comptel’s Provisioning system was first deployed in 1992 and has since been delivered to over 100 operators worldwide.
Arnhild Schia, Comptel Vice President, Network Inventory division, commented: “A recent extensive and independent study commissioned by Comptel and carried out by Frost & Sullivan and Stratecast Partners found that 57% of operators questioned who were planning to renew their provisioning system in the next 12 months, would like to see the activation and inventory solutions integrated. Comptel were in the exceptional position to be able to put together and leverage two strong, already proven products – inventory and provisioning. The integration process was smooth, because the products had no overlap and the two expert teams were able to develop a common understanding very quickly.â€
Kari Pasonen, Comptel Vice President, Provisioning division, Comptel Corporation adds: “The pre-integrated solution means that the numerous interactions required to design and assign the resources to the services are hidden from order management. This clean interface should cut months from the deployment projects.â€
Comptel® Fulfilment solution enables automating fulfilment of orders for any service or service bundle in any network or across networks and layers.
The suite includes several individual, configurable modules:
* Provisioning workflow to control the process
* Service configurator to decompose a product to technical services
* Network resource inventory to design & assign capacity and perform routing
* Activation engine and interfaces for the auto-configuration of network elements
* Reconciliation and upload interfaces for data upload from the live network
* Number and Identity Management for handling allocation of IP addresses and other numbers
* Tools to design and modify work flows, reports, interfaces and data models
* Clients for interaction with the provisioning work flow for order entry, order enrichment, manual installation work and fall out handling
* Open APIs with pre-built, high-level functionality in-between the modules and for the interaction with ordering systems outside this suite
The integrated Comptel® Fulfilment Suite premieres in TeleManagement World in Nice, France on May 16-18, 2006.
