Deutsche Telekom AG has selected NetCracker’s solutions and services for its Next Generation Service and Systems Management (NGSSM) transformation, a core element of its enterprise-wide migration to Next Generation Networks (NGN). This win is part of Deutsche Telekom’s (DT) strategic initiative to drive standards-based rationalization and automation of operations to enable significant cost savings, rapid introduction of innovative services, and improved customer experience.
DT’s transformation program, one of the largest in the industry, seeks to manage digital assets across networks and devices with superior user experience. It will begin migration to NGN with all IP and NG access (including radio), ADSL 2+, VDSL, and transport networks. As a part of this transformation, a new NGSSM architecture that emphasizes standardization, COTS, and network platform independence has been developed with a view to simplifying and automating the operations and management of the NGN.
NetCracker will provide the common data management and the complete fulfillment, operations support, and readiness for the NGN.
Deutsche Telekom will utilize NetCracker’s Service Inventory, Service Provisioning & Activation, Resource Inventory, and Discovery & Reconciliation modules to automate the fulfillment of fixed network-based Broadband Internet connections as well as next-generation IMS-based multimedia services and to manage their IMS-based infrastructure.
