Equinox Information Systems is pleased to embark on a relationship with Hunter Communications after being selected for a recent business assurance project.
Hunter, the premier fiber-optic communications services provider in southern Oregon and northern California, selected and licensed the Protector fraud management system (FMS) from Equinox at the end of 2020. In short order, Equinox configured and deployed the automated FMS to further protect Hunter’s network. As part of the initiative, Hunter also tasked Equinox with implementing active call tear down and automatic blocking for all monitored traffic. Currently processing over 2 billion records a day for providers around the world, Equinox has deployed applications that help telecom companies stop fraud, mediate usage data, manage expense, and optimize revenue since the company’s founding 1986.

Protector is a comprehensive, scalable solution with a proven record of detecting even the newest fraud schemes. The automated FMS provides real-time protection for the records and switches it monitors. Its immediate alerts about unwanted or suspicious incidents speed response time and mitigate risk. Advanced blocking protocols also allow Protector to shut down activity at the switch or tear down active calls when warranted. Furthermore, the system’s browser-based tools drastically reduce investigation and incident closure time. Finally, Protector’s dynamic and flexible monitoring metrics quickly identify fraudulent and abusive activity across all customer and call types.
