Enhanced Telecommunications, Inc. d/b/a ETI Software Solutions (ETI), a leading provider of automated, flow-through service activation software, has been named to Broadband Properties magazine’s annual top 100 recognizing the best in Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) technologies for 2007.
This is the second year in a row ETI Software Solutions has made the list, which continues to honor companies in the FTTH arena for their innovation.
“Being named to Broadband Properties’ Top 100 once again puts us in excellent company with other leading-edge firms,” says Peter M. Pifer, President and CEO, ETI Software. “Without a doubt the key to our success over the years has been the ability to seamlessly connect different technologies together, coupled with the largest proven inventory of video and fiber interfaces in the world.”
ETI Software Solutions supports interfaces for the following vendors: Alcatel (GPON and BPON), Calix, Motorola, Occam, TelStrat, Wave7Optics and World Wide Packets. Additionally, the company continues to develop interfaces to other vendor’s technologies to provide instantaneous activation of IPTV and VOIP services.
“Other companies that develop interfaces provide limited features with only automated provisioning of basic on/off functionality,” adds Pifer. “ETI Software Solutions develops feature-rich interfaces that take full advantage of all functionality in a vendor’s API, enabling more control over premise devices.”
ETI Software Solutions’ flagship product Triad provides out-of-the-box functionality to automate the complex provisioning processes for both active and passive FTTP technologies from a variety of vendors. Triad automates activation of all service ports on the Optical Network Terminal (ONT), the termination point of the FTTP network at the customer’s service location. Additionally, Triad is able to automatically set the bandwidth (i.e., Quality of Service) for a given port so it matches the service level requested by the customer, allowing providers to offer differentiated services at varying price points.
Triad also supports the automatic discovery of new ONTs on the FTTP network and can automatically provision these auto-discovered devices in real-time. Since Triad also provisions video set–top boxes (RF or IPTV) and other CPE devices, it eliminates multiple data entry points and the service errors and delays associated with manual “swivel chair” processes.
