The City of Bellevue, Iowa has deployed ETI Software Solutions’ Triad Order Entry & Rating (OER) and Work Order (WO) modules as their primary billing and operation support system, enabling it to sell, manage and activate video and broadband data services to the residents and businesses of Bellevue over its Fiber-to-the-Premise (FTTP) network.
Bellevue’s goal was to use its legacy utility billing system to generate a combined statement (utility and telecom service) and manage the receivables for each subscriber’s digital television and broadband services.
“Everyone we originally spoke to told us that we couldn’t use our utility billing system to produce a bill for FTTP services, but then we met ETI,” says Loras Herrig, City Administrator, City of Bellevue. “Triad is the perfect fit; it provides us with all the tools we need to service our customers and produce a bill using our existing billing system.”
With ETI’s Triad OER, the City of Bellevue can now generate detailed, monthly recurring and non-recurring charges for utility, data and video services for both its digital and analog customers, as well as manage and bill Pay-Per-View services. The city can also effectively track and manage its customer premise equipment such as set-top boxes and FTTP gateways whether the device is in warehouse, truck or installed at the customer premise and in service.
Triad eliminates multiple data entry points, the service errors and delays associated with manual “swivel chair” provisioning processes, ensuring the subscriber only receives the services they are paying to receive. For example, Triad is able to automatically set the bandwidth (i.e. Quality of Service) for a given port on the FTTP ONT so it matches the service level requested by the customer allowing providers to offer differentiated services at varying price points.
“Bellevue’s market size proves that our product is priced right for municipalities deploying FTTP services,” says Peter M. Pifer, President and CEO, ETI. “Helping our customers quickly and affordably launch services is what our company and products are all about.”
The city of Bellevue will be receiving digital video transport from Iowa Network Services (INS). The foundation of INS’s success is an extensive network of fiber optic cabling that stretches over 5,000 miles. From this network INS can provide service to virtually any community. Today INS serves over 330 communities in Iowa telecommunications services.
