Oracle has announced that Etihad Atheeb Telecom “Go” in Saudi Arabia deployed Oracle software to support its WiMax broadband services. Etihad Atheeb Telecom “GO,” the newest telecommunications operator in Saudi Arabia formed by an alliance of Atheeb Trading Company, Al-Nahla Trading Company, Batelco of Bahrain and Traco Company, has implemented Oracle Communications software to help meet its ambitious growth targets that include the deployment of residential WiMax broadband services.
The implementation is part of GO’s launch strategy to support its competitiveness in the Saudi telecommunications market by keeping operational costs low, enabling rapid service innovation and ensuring strong customer intimacy.
Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management enables GO to quickly launch new IP services and innovative promotions. GO is also using Oracle Communications Service Activation to automate the order-to-activate provisioning cycle and Oracle Communications Inventory Management to support the activation of complex services in a flow-through manner across multiple technology domains.
“As a new entrant in the Saudi market, GO needed a robust, innovative architecture to help support and meet its ambitious growth and revenue targets. GO is committed to delivering great products and services with innovative spirit, and Oracle is the best vendor to support our success. GO is confident that our infrastructure will provide customers with continued access to innovative services.
Considering that IP services are highly complex and expensive to launch, manage and configure, GO implemented Oracle because of its strengths in providing an end-to-end approach that simplifies and enhances our IT environment,” said Craig Humphreys, vice president, information technology at GO.
