The FierceWireless Executive Breakfast series will return to Competitive Carriers Association’s (CCA) Annual Convention featuring executives from C Spire, Ericsson, Nex-Tech Wireless and Sprint. The panel, entitled Where will the extra network capacity come from?, will take place Wednesday, October 25 at 8:30 am; the Executive Breakfast is sponsored by Sprint. CCA’s Annual Convention will take place at the Fort Worth Convention Center, October 25-27.
Network traffic is rising precipitously and the trend is affecting everything from spectrum auctions to fiber buildouts to mergers and acquisitions. Operators are leveraging a wide range of tools, techniques and technologies to ensure their networks can handle the extra load. Competitive providers are increasingly looking at what additional levers they can pull – be it implementing new spectrum bands, virtualizing new services or deploying additional small cells – to keep pace with user pressures.
Panelists will examine how and when these new methods will be implemented, what technologies will create the biggest impact and how close network operators are to exceeding their current network capacity resources. Panelists include:
- Craig Sparks, VP – Technology Strategy & Planning, C Spire
- Paul Challoner, Head of Network Product Solutions, Ericsson North America
- Nathan Sutter, Director of Network Operations and Engineering, Nex-Tech Wireless
- Jay Bluhm, VP, Network Planning, Sprint
- Mike Dano, Editor-in-Chief, Telecom Group, FierceMarkets, moderator
An additional registration fee of $50 is required and includes breakfast, which will begin at 8:00 am; attendees will be able to ask their own questions to the panel during the event.
