JacobsRimell (JR), a leading provider of customer-centric IP service fulfillment solutions, announced this week at TeleManagement World Forum Dallas 2006 a five-year contract with Get, Norway’s leading digital TV and broadband provider. Get has selected JacobsRimell’s APSâ„¢ OSS solution to support Get’s Broadband, Voice (VoIP) and Digital TV products and services.
JacobsRimell’s APSâ„¢ will also enable Get to more rapidly implement and support a range of innovative, blended services that are planned for introduction in the coming year. Another key benefit that JacobsRimell’s APSâ„¢ will provide for Get and its subscribers is a range of intuitive self care facilities enabling Get’s subscribers to self select and modify their products and features. Delivered using the APSâ„¢ Portlet-based data presentation facility Get can maintain its existing look and feel, whilst more rapidly integrating the self-care features into their existing customer support environment.
Get selected the JacobsRimell solution based on its track record supporting more than 15 million Television, Voice and Broadband Internet subscribers, and because of APS’s unique information management and presentation architecture. APSâ„¢ will allow Get to more rapidly introduce and support new products and services that are independent of the access technology and the infrastructure vendor used, vastly simplifying Get’s operations and systems integration requirements.
“Our existing OSS provisioning system was unable to cope with the pace of change needed for our new product introduction plans. We needed one platform that would allow us to introduce new products and services more quickly and cost effectively, simultaneously improving the service levels for our customers, enabling them to be more in control,” said Kjell Hammer, CIO of Get. “We are confident that APSâ„¢ is that solution — an information-based platform that is flexible enough to scale with our growing customer base and our growing offering of converged products and services.”
“We are a firm believer that real time access to our subscriber and operational information is a key enabler for realizing our dream of rapid creation and adoption of more innovative products and services. This we can achieve through architecting and implementing a fully interoperable, usable and simple operational environment based on JR’s APS solution,” continued Hammer.
“By migrating to a single, extensible product and service fulfillment platform, Get is essentially future proofing its operations environment, whilst improving its service and support for its customer base,” said George Shanks, CEO of JacobsRimell. “With strong incremental growth, Get will be in a much stronger position to offer its customers new services with scalability and ease.”
