HGTelekom, a leading provider of results-oriented training programs for telecommunications and high technology companies worldwide, today announced that it has joined the OSS through Javaâ„¢ (OSS/J) Initiative, a working group of telecommunications industry leaders that provides standards-based Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and design guidelines for the development of component-based OSS systems. As a member of the OSS/J Initiative, HGTelekom will create a portfolio of OSS/J training courses targeting the knowledge requirements of telecommunication management, system architects, and developers.
“The need to adopt customer-centric approaches that speed new products and services to market while increasing the quality experience of end users has driven back-office Operations Support Systems (OSSs) to the front lines of the telco business,†says George Greenlee, founder and CEO of HGTelekom.
“This change is effectively mandating the adoption of Next Generation OSS where business processes, enterprise data, and system interfaces are based on industry standards such as OSS/J and NGOSS. As an active member of OSS/J, HGTelecom we will work within the initiative to develop an approved training curriculum and suite of OSS/J courses that will be offered worldwide.â€
Comprised of leading telecommunications service providers and technology companies, the OSS/J standards greatly facilitate the deployment of open and flexible SOA Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) in demand by service providers worldwide. OSS/J standard technologies provide the foundation for unifying legacy systems and new applications quickly and at low cost.
“As more and more carriers cross the chasm to full adoption of OSS/J standards and technologies, there will be a growing demand for high quality OSS/J training within the development community,†Says Jörg Frankenberger, head of OSS Engineering, Vodafone D2 GmbH, and chair of the OSS/J Steering Committee. “We are delighted that HGTelecom, with its depth of telecommunication expertise and familiarity with both OSS/J and TeleManagement Forum standards, has joined us to help drive our training programs. This will ensure the widest possible range of quality OSS/J training while enabling service providers worldwide to more quickly transform to a standards-based telecommunications platform.â€
HGTelekom also provides TeleManagement Forum Training.
