Intec Billing, a BSS/OSS software vendor for fixed, mobile and next-generation networks, and Huawei Technologies Company Limited China, have successfully implemented Intec’s carrier class multi-service Intec Mediation solution for Asia Pacific Broadband Wireless (“APBWâ€), a leading CDMA 2000 operator in Taiwan, within three months.
Mr. L.T. Wang, Chairman of APBW stated: “With its business logic-based configuration, the Intec mediation solution has demonstrated its capability to help a service provider to differentiate itself by accurately delivering new and innovative communication services, and by leveraging a single converged mediation platform to scale and support the needs of rapid penetration into a high-volume market. We are also very impressed by the quality of the product and delivery team and also the speed of delivery.”
Asia Pacific Broadband Wireless Communication Inc., (APBW) is Taiwan`s first third generation (3G) broadband wireless service provider. Established in November 2001, APBW won its 3G mobile operating license and successfully introduced Taiwan`s first CDMA cellular service in 2003.
Intec’s convergent mediation solution is the platform of choice for APBW and its group companies, including Asia Pacific Broadband Telecom (APBT). The adoption of a robust, advanced convergent mediation solution will enable APBW to gain business advantage in a highly competitive environment through faster service launches. The proven scalability of the solution in large carrier environments will prepare the service provider for future growth.
In this project, the Intec implementation team worked closely with the Huawei project team in defining customer requirements. The new convergent mediation platform was commissioned, on time and within budget, to collect, mediate and distribute all revenue records from the newly installed Huawei MSC to APBW’s existing billing platform, interconnect billing platform, data warehouse and fraud management systems. Huawei acted as the prime contractor for this project, with Intec enabling Huawei’s turnkey project delivery of Intec’s proven convergent mediation platform, assuring APBW revenue streams management.
Intec Managing Director, Asia Pacific, John Rocca said, “Intec mediation supports the business strategies of over 220 of the world’s leading carriers in fixed, wireless, IP and 3G including France Telecom, Vodafone, Orange and Hutchison’s ‘3’ Mobile Group, positioning our solution as number one globally. We are not only committed to delivering leading edge technology and robust performance but also to listening to our customers and providing solutions that will ultimately simplify the way they do business and grow with them.â€
