Tom Giovanetti, president of a national, economic think tank, will testify on the benefits of comprehensive telecom reform at a hearing before the Indiana Senate Homeland Security, Utilities, and Public Policy Committee on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. The committee is considering legislation that would provide reform in three key telecom areas: video franchise, municipal broadband and deregulation of traditional voice.
Giovanetti’s testimony draws from a wealth of experience, both personal and professional. For example, Giovanetti and other IPI experts were invited to testify during Texas’ telecom deregulation process. Texas has now passed successful telecom deregulation policies — including video franchise and municipal broadband reforms (some of the same telecom policies now under review in Indiana).
