Convergys Corporation (NYSE:CVG), a company that provides customer care, human resources and billing services, has signed a licensing agreement with ntl Telewest for Convergys’ ICOMS customer care and billing solution. ntl Telewest is the United Kingdoom’s biggest cable operator and is a leading provider of broadband, digital television, telephony, content, and communications services to homes, businesses, and public sector organizations in the UK.
ntl Telewest (NASDAQ:NTLI) will replace four legacy billing systems with Convergys’ ICOMS customer care and billing solution. This includes Network Inventory Management capabilities. Once implemented, ICOMS will be the only billing and customer care infrastructure supporting over 5 million video, telephony, and broadband customers. Telewest has been using the Convergys ICOMS customer care and billing solution since 1996.
This ICOMS customer care and billing implementation is going to be a major contributor to achieving significant cost savings. It will also be key in facilitating significant improvements in ntl’s customer care. Convergys’ Professional Services team is going to perform business analysis, software design and development, implementation, migration, and testing for this project.
