Cable operators will need to rapidly deploy patches to millions of cable modems after a widespread Wi-Fi security threat that could enable hackers to decrypt and potentially look at everything people are doing online was revealed this week. To help operators protect their customers’ online security, Intraway is offering a one-time complimentary use of their Automatic Firmware Management (AFM) solution.
Once modem manufacturers release the firmware security update, cable operators will be able to use Intraway’s AFM software to quickly and efficiently deploy the update to all Wi-Fi cable modems in a scheduled or real-time manner. AFM uses flexible update policies and controlled deployments that minimize service disruption and easily differentiates between modem models to target the affected modems exclusively.
