In Krakow, the first Open RAN 5G Private Network for Industry 4.0 has been launched. This marks the start of the next-generation of mobile network implementations in Poland for industrial purposes. The installation was implemented by hubraum – Deutsche Telekom’s tech-incubator – and used Radio Access Network (RAN), provided by Polish 5G solution vendor IS-Wireless.
The Hub4Industry at Astor Robotics Center is now operating Poland’s industry-grade Open RAN network 5G. The network was developed by IS-Wireless in collaboration with hubraum, Benetel, and T-Mobile. IS-Wireless’ team says that more 5G deployments for industry 4.0 will be coming using Open RAN.
The launch of Network marks the beginnings of industry transformation
Experts predict that more networks like the Hub4Industry, which was launched at the Astor robotics center in Poland, will soon be available in Poland. Companies on the Polish market have expressed interest in implementing private 5G network. According to the national regulator, a dedicated radio frequency band is soon available for this use.
On May 25, the official launch of Poland’s first Industry 4.0 5G Network was held. The event featured representatives from the partners involved in the project, as well as Alex Choi. He is the Chairman of O-RAN ALLIANCE – a global community of mobile operators and vendors as well as research and academic institutions.
