ProfitLine today announced that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has renewed its multi-million dollar telecom expense management contract. Initiated by iSYS, a certified ProfitLine partner, ProfitLine was awarded the $3 million contract to manage wireless telecom billing on an outsourced basis for the department.
After an extensive competitive review of available options and the receipt of multiple bids, the DHS once again selected ProfitLine, its current provider of outsourced wireless telecom expense management, because the department found ProfitLine’s overall value proposition, combined with its outstanding customer service and expertise at driving down wireless telecom costs to be compelling reasons to renew its contract.
“From basic devices such as one-way pagers to multi-function PDAs and Blackberries, the Department of Homeland Security requires a broad range of cellular technology to facilitate communications and complete our mission,” said Jason Kattman, national capital region wireless project manager of the Department of Homeland Security. “Our partnership with ProfitLine offers us the responsive flexibility required to deliver resources to first responders, as well as the proven execution essential to maintain the backbone sustaining our alert posture. These things, along with a revolutionary pricing structure, have allowed the DHS to reap significant cost savings and enhance our mission-critical communication capabilities.”
“The challenges that DHS faces are not that different from other large, geographically distributed organizations,” said Rick Valencia, chief executive officer of ProfitLine. “Wireless billing is a huge headache for any business, including government offices. We take away that headache by handling all the contracts, ordering, logistics, help desk and billing for our clients, so they can focus on their core competencies. The Department of Homeland Security renewal demonstrates that ProfitLine has and will continue to deliver long-term value to our clients.”
“The Department of Homeland Security, though still new, is growing into a mature organization. Part of this process involves the reevaluation of contracts, especially for mission-critical, force-multiplying services that are often non-DHS specific and costly, such as telecom,” said Kattman. “We are moving toward consolidating services to realize cost savings and operational flexibility, and outsourcing our wireless telecom management aligns perfectly with these initiatives. The combination of cost savings, proven execution, customer satisfaction and sophisticated offering were several of the key reasons we decided to renew our contract with ProfitLine as our wireless telecom expense management partner.”
The introduction of the DHS to ProfitLine was coordinated by iSYS, ProfitLine’s strategic partner in the government market. iSYS has numerous government clients, and expects strong growth in the government sector for telecom expense management because of the government’s need to drive efficiency and reduce telecom costs. “The Department of Homeland Security is only one of the myriad government agencies that can significantly benefit from outsourcing its telecom expense management,” said Jin Kang, President of iSYS. “Government organizations are famous for their cost-cutting efforts, and we see a huge surge in the need for services like ProfitLine’s that not only save organizations money, but provide a positive return on investment.”
