Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems, has released additional modules for its Qpass Off-Portal Suite, a comprehensive solution that allows service providers to create a safer and more consistent customer experience.
The solution also enables profitable growth for both service providers and merchants in off-portal or “direct to consumer” digital commerce, such as when consumers purchase goods or services directly from merchants. The Qpass Off-Portal Suite delivers more transparency into key metrics so that service providers and merchants can easily measure and evaluate their businesses, and service providers can apply variable controls for each merchant based on mutual agreements. The announcement was made in advance of the Mobile Marketing Forum taking place this week in Los Angeles.
Based on Qpass internal data and industry estimates, Qpass systems have processed more than 75 percent of the dollars spent in the North American off-portal market, placing Qpass in a unique position as the market leader to address some of the key challenges associated with mobile commerce. The Qpass Off-Portal Suite was developed specifically to help service providers re-ignite the growth of the off-portal market and dramatically reduce the high costs of customer care.
The Qpass Off-Portal Suite adds modules to the current Qpass solution to give service providers tools to focus not only on revenue growth, but also on the profitability of each off-portal transaction. The Qpass Off-Portal Suite helps manage all of the variable costs associated with off-portal transactions. Specific features include the ability to:
* Comprehensively manage short code campaigns including creation, “opt-in” and advice of charge requirements, financial authorization processes, and other rules as appropriate for each specific merchant and campaign;
* Provide accurate and real-time reports on off-portal transactions both internally within the service provider and externally by merchants;
* Link the level of network usage a merchant requires to their agreement with the service provider for greater profitability and network availability to all parties.
“To effectively grow the off-portal market, wireless service providers need capabilities that enable them to manage their business increasingly as a large-scale commerce marketplace, with best-in-class payment and financial processing capabilities,” said Charles Born, vice president of corporate communications, Amdocs. “The Qpass Off-Portal Suite improves on the legacy Short Message Service (SMS) payment systems and provides the degree of robust financial controls required to ensure that all parties are more profitable and that consumers receive a better experience with their off-portal purchases.”
The Qpass Off-Portal Suite complements the recently introduced Qpass Retail Suite for on-portal transactions in which consumers make purchases directly from their service provider. The Qpass Retail Suite is designed to enable a rich and personal shopping experience across all storefronts for any digital content.
Amdocs is also unveiling the Amdocs CES Blueprint today. This blueprint is the first visionary outline of the operating environment communications service providers need to establish in order to transform from providers of utility voice, data and video services into purveyors of the digital lifestyle.
