Convergys Corporation (NYSE:CVG), a global leader in customer care, human resources, and billing services, announced today it has signed a landmark contract with Saudi Telecom Company (STC), a provider of mobile, landline, data, and Internet services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This multi-year licensing, support, and maintenance contract for a Convergys billing and customer care solution is one of the largest of its kind in this region of the world. As one of the world’s top 15 most profitable telecom operators, STC operates the largest communications network in the Arab world covering more than 95 percent of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
STC selected Convergys’ Infinys ™ rating and billing solution to support its current 12 million pre- and post-paid mobile subscribers, and to quickly scale to meet anticipated subscriber growth brought about by STC’s delivery of new advanced services. Convergys will also provide on-site professional and consulting services staff for project planning, consulting, and training. Implementation will begin during the first quarter of 2006.

On completion of its migration to Infinys, STC will realize a lower total cost of ownership and operate a highly scalable, convergent rating and billing solution capable of supporting voice, data, and video offerings across wireless, wireline, and cable/broadband services. STC, which has already introduced a variety of value-added messaging services for mobile subscribers, was granted a 3G license earlier this year. The Convergys solution is a core component of STC’s strategy to create a truly customer-centric services company, which can deliver value to customers and shareholders alike.
