Sicap Device Chooser, the Natural Choice for Swisscom Web Service

Posted on July 30, 2011 Written by oss

Swisscom and sicap have recently revealed the solution behind Swisscom online shop “Advisor”, the brand new web service which helps mobile subscribers select, compare and purchase new devices.

The Swisscom website now features Advisor. Visitors can earmark devices on the interface or drag and drop them at will to create their preference list.

Behind the Swisscom offer, sicap Device Chooser deploys an in-house developed device knowledge database, has stylish graphics, intuitive and interactive pages with a large number of filters for users to fine-tune their search for a device which really meets their criteria. In addition to price range, brand or lifestyle, visitors can compare specifications such as battery life, weight or camera options, available accessories and contract types for up to four devices at a time.

Sicap Device Chooser offers a number of marketing advantages for Swisscom. An easy to use back office interface enables marketing teams to set up selection steering, pointing visitors down a process of selection paths and displaying relevant promotions along the way. The cross-selling option promotes device-related accessories (bluetooth headsets, docking stations, carry cases etc).

The smartphone segment is one where potential buyers need to spend a fair amount of time comparing and weighing them up the vast range of available options. In Switzerland, over 40% of customers search information on the internet before visiting the operator store or contacting Customer Care.

Hervé Masi, sicap Product Manager said that “By opening up a web interface to the sicap Device Chooser database, Swisscom provides a valuable service for potential smartphone buyers. After a session on “Advisor” to narrow down their choice, visitors subsequently require much less attention from staff once in the Swisscom store”.

“With a more balanced pressure relief on shop staff activities and customer waiting time at peak hours, Swisscom’s ability to offer customers an optimized online sales platform is a significant step forward in further improving customer satisfaction and loyalty,” agreed Laura Lupu, Online Shop Manager at Swisscom.

“Enabling a compelling and intuitive customer visit to our website is of paramount importance to the service quality we promise our 5 million customers”, explained Mrs. Lupu. “Through sicap’s Device Chooser, Swisscom is able to offer clear and intelligent online guidance for handset decision scenarios via an easy to use interface at the customer’s leisure”.
