SlipStream Data Inc., the industry leader in acceleration of web and multimedia content for desktop and mobile devices, announced today the addition of Ante Rupcic and Cam Ruttle to the Executive Management team. Last year SlipStream achieved significant penetration in key European, Asian and Latin American markets with their acceleration, compression and network optimization solution that enables top speed and consistent quality of service over all network types (2.5G, 3G, WiFi, satellite, WiMax).
Drawing on more than 16 years of experience in mobile networks (and 20 years in telecom), Ante Rupcic will be heading up SlipStream’s aggressive expansion into the Mobile Service Provider (MSP)/Wireless Carrier markets. Previously, Ante served as Vice President, Engineering and Network Operations at Oskar where he oversaw the development of Oskar’s network, the launch of next generation services and UMTS license acquisition and programs. Ante was instrumental in launching one of the fastest-growing GSM networks in the world–achieving 88 percent penetration within nine months. He has held senior positions with MSPs in the UK, Brazil, Romania, China, and most recently in Canada with Telus Mobility. Ante has achieved stretch targets within a range of business models and operations from top tier MSPs to new market entrants. His experience leading teams in research, service and technology development, business development, and engineering/operations enables him to address customer needs at all levels.
Cam Ruttle will lead Sales for North American Wireless Carriers and ISPs. Cam joins SlipStream with more than 20 years’ combined experience in the Wireless Carrier and IT Services industry. He recently joined SlipStream from Research In Motion (RIM) where he held Vice President, Carrier Management and Director of Sales positions managing several of RIM’s top tier carrier relationships. During Cam’s tenure at RIM, customer adoption of BlackBerry(R) products and services grew at record levels. Prior to RIM, Cam was Vice President, Financial Services Vertical and Managing Director, Ontario Region at EDS Systemhouse. He brings extensive experience in building and leading high performance teams, partnering with large multinational companies and Mobile Service Providers, and driving company initiatives that build profitable companies.
Cam and Ante join the existing management team established in 2005 with Carlos Hernandez managing Latin America and Europe; Nianqing Li managing China; and Madhukar Murthi managing Asia, Middle East and Africa. More recently, SlipStream has also hired additional Regional Sales Managers dedicated to Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific/China and North America.
Ron Neumann, SlipStream Data Inc.’s President, commented: “These two new, key positions highlight our commitment to the international mobile market. Since our formation in 2000, SlipStream has enjoyed continued profitability in a very competitive market and seen our customer base increase to more than 2,000 service providers in over 45 countries. Bringing Ante and Cam on board will ensure we remain connected with our existing customers as they evolve into delivering more dynamic, multimedia content to their subscribers over wireless and wired lines and ensure we build new opportunities with Mobile Service Providers globally.”
