STL [NSE STLTECH], an optical and digital solutions leader, announced recently its partnership with Windstream (a privately-held communications and software firm) to support large-scale fiber extension projects.
Windstream Wholesale is a leader in optical technology and offers fast and flexible solutions. Currently, multiple fiber constructions are underway, including an extension of the existing Tulsa route from Little Rock to Memphis; a new build of fiber from Raleigh to Jacksonville; and a project from New York City and Montreal. Windstream’s Kinetic division is also bringing the fastest internet to homes, businesses and carriers across America. Kinetic by windstream invests $2bn in order to expand gigabit service across 18 states.
In February 2021, STL began providing Optical networking solutions to Windstream. STL expanded its product line to include advanced optical designs such as Intelligently Bonded ribbon and Flat Ribbon, along with its loose tube optic cables. These products are designed for faster rollouts, superior network durability, and high-scalability. They align perfectly with Windstream Wholesale’s requirements, including metro and long-haul networks that currently offer up to 400G waves to their customers, and will support 800-G transmissions in the future.
BEAD Programs and other federal infrastructure projects in the United States include requirements for domestic manufacture of fiber optic cables and equipment. STL has established a modern, Industry 4.0 certified manufacturing facility in South Carolina to enable it produce “Made in America”, optical solutions for Windstream as well as other service providers. STL has committed to producing materials that are compliant with market requirements in a shorter time frame than the average through its onshoring efforts and by flexing their global supply chain.
