Subscribers can now divert or copy SMS to another mobile phone number or to email with IMF Divert, a revolutionary service that ensure they never miss a message again. Avalanche Mobile announces IMF Divert which is indispensable for business travelers, employees and pre- to post-paid migration. By enabling a number of revolutionary and valuable SMS-based services, IMF Divert helps network operators improve service levels, increase billable events and revenue from text messaging and build loyalty in key high-ARPU market segments.
IMF Divert and other Intelligent Messaging Filter™ services will be demonstrated by Avalanche Mobile at Hall 4, HS6.08 at 3GSM in Barcelona from February 13 – 16.
Diverting voice calls and emails is a familiar concept to mobile subscribers, but until now they have not been able to do the same with SMS. That poses problems for various workers, business travelers and subscribers with more than one SIM card, including those migrating from pre-paid to post-paid. Ultimately subscribers and revenue are lost to the operators.
IMF Divert solves these problems by enabling operators to divert SMS to another mobile phone number or to email, thus putting an end to missed messages for the traveler and enabling pre-paid subscribers to convert to post-paid with peace of mind. This type of value-add is extremely useful to a wide range of subscribers and not only increases revenue, but also customer loyalty and conversions from pre- to post-paid.
In terms of pre-to-post-paid conversion, network operators recognize the benefits of moving subscribers to post-paid as pre-paid churn is 3 to 4 times that of post-paid. Yet, as many networks require subscribers to get a new number when converting IMF Divert removes a significant barrier to post-paid uptake.
For subscribers with more than one SIM, for example, those with both company and private SIMs, IMF Divert enables SMS that cannot be delivered to one number to be diverted to the other instead. This encourages the subscriber to keep both SIMs on the same network and thus reduces churn. Additionally for business users, SMS can be diverted to email for more flexible usage possibilities and enhanced service levels.
IMF Divert is installed transparently on layer 2 of the existing SS7 network and is able to monitor SMS from both local and foreign networks. Sturdy customer care and billing interfaces are also provided to enable operators to maximize uptake and benefits from the new features and performance that IMF Divert enables.
Mark Shiels, Avalanche Mobile’s Director Global Business, said “IMF Divert is a true win-win case with tremendous scope for the operators with potential reductions in forfeited revenues, more roamers, new ARPU and more post-paid signups. And from the customer’s perspective, travelers and business users, many of whom have more than one SIM, stand to benefit immensely from the additional reliable messaging and flexibility that IMF Divert provides.â€
