Formula Telecom Solutions, Ltd. (LSE: FTS – News), a provider of Business Control, Billing and CRM solutions for service and content providers and the telecom industry, has announced that Telenet, Belgium’s largest provider of broadband services, has deployed FTS’ Leap Business Control Engine (Leap BCE(TM)) to perform real-time business control and rating of multi-play services. Using Leap BCE, Telenet can easily launch new services and formulate strategic business rules for dynamic, real-time responses to both service and subscriber-related events.
Leap BCE is a robust business rule engine capable of capturing, analyzing, and taking action on real-time events generated by subscribers, the network, and other solution components. It enables provider personnel to define, deploy, and manage new services through its simple-to-use GUI, without the need for new code. The product is a true multi-play platform capable of integrating simultaneously with various networks like wireline, wireless, mobile, cable, and IP, providing cross-product service plans.
Leap BCE is integrated with Telenet’s Cisco SCE and SM platforms in the network and Telenet’s current BSS environment to accept real-time events and dynamically execute actions based on these events. For example, if a subscriber reaches a given download quota, Leap BCE enables an appropriate business-rule driven response, by informing the subscriber of the event and presenting them with a few up-sell options and a choice about how they would like to continue. Options could be buying a new download quota or moving to a charge by MB service plan. The subscriber could also choose to reduce access speed to 64 kbps for the remainder of the month and not incur additional costs. Leap BCE manages this interaction over the web without CSR intervention.
“We had two objectives: Enhancing our flat-rate products with more revenue generating customer options, and increasing customer satisfaction through better information and notifications. By integrating FTS’ Leap BCE between the broadband network and our business support environment, we are able to offer creative service and quick new product introductions, and ultimately, to increase customer retention,” said Paul Van Cotthem, Telenet Senior Vice President, Residential Marketing & Sales. “After extensive research and testing, we found Leap BCE to be uniquely qualified for this task due to its business rules flexibility, its open architecture and its exceptional performance” added Dirk van Dessel, Telenet Senior Vice President, Information Systems
“We are very proud to have been selected by Telenet to create this state of the art solution that truly injects a business sense into the network and raises the bar for all multi-play providers,” added Norman Tutnauer, FTS’ Vice President of Worldwide Sales. “Leap BCE, with its exceptional configurability and flexibility, will enable Telenet’s customers to receive services tailored to their needs as it assists Telenet to achieve greater revenues.”
The Leap BCE network solution is powered by FTS’ Business Control and Charging Foundation (Leap BCCF(TM)), which support the FTS Leap Family of real-time business control, rating, billing and customer care solutions.
FTS will be exhibiting at the Billing and OSS World Conference in the Miami Beach Convention Center May 3rd and 4th, and can be found in booth 221. In addition, Mr. Yair M. Sakov, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, will be delivering a presentation at the conference, titled “Flat Rate or Flat Broke – Increasing ARPU with Flat Rate Pricing”, discussing real examples where operators have used simple yet innovative schemes to increase ARPU by building on top of flat-rate pricing.
