Nashville-based Equinox Information Systems has told OSS News Review that TelNet Worldwide (TelNet) has implemented the Protector fraud management system. TelNet is a next-generation provider of essential business communications products and services based in Troy, Michigan. They licensed Protector in late 2010 to identify and defend against costly communications fraud. The Protector software integrates with well over 200 switches and data formats, including TelNet’s Genband C3 switching platform.
Protector provides real-time telecom fraud detection by identifying instances in which a customer’s actual usage varies from expected usage in a manner that suggests fraudulent activity. Over the last twenty years, Protector has saved carriers millions of dollars in fraud losses by distinguishing communications fraud from legitimate customer usage.
“The Protector software safeguards the integrity of the network from hackers and other telco fraud criminals,” explained Rick Riordan, TelNet’s finance director. “We have implemented Protector software across our entire switched network to protect our customers and business partners from communications fraud.”
“We are pleased to provide TelNet with a reliable fraud management solution,” noted David Ledbetter, National Sales Director for Equinox Information Systems. “Time is money, and Protector will certainly play a key role for TelNet in spotting telecom fraud proactively rather than reactively.”
