Intec Billing, a leading BSS/OSS software vendor for fixed, mobile and next-generation networks, has recently been awarded a multi-product contract by UTS for the the Intec Trading and Routing Solution and Intec Interconnect v7. UTS is the leading provider of local, long distance, Internet and transaction-based services in the Netherlands Antilles.
The contract includes the Intec Trading and Routing Solution, which enables optimized capacity trading and traffic routing in the highly competitive wholesale voice business, and Intec Interconnect v7, the latest version of the world’s leading convergent rating, billing and settlement solution. The contract will increase Intec’s existing relationship with UTS, which was established in 2000 with the successful installation of Intec’s InterconnecT ITU system.
UTS is one of the Caribbean’s growing providers of fixed and mobile telecommunication services, offering consumers, businesses and governments a wide range of voice and data services such as broadband, video, SMS, MMS, long distance, collect calling, leased lines, and pre-paid calling cards.
“UTS is committed to improving and expanding its infrastructure to provide the best services to its customers and to become the preferred supplier of a broad range of telecom services, including wholesale capacity,†said Paul de Geus, UTS CEO. “We chose Intec because, like UTS, they are market leaders who strive for excellence and are focused on offering best-in-class products and services. Implementing Intec’s convergent interconnect billing system and innovative trading and routing solution will support us in our mission to become a key regional player in the wholesale telecom market place.â€
The Intec Trading and Routing solution is a market-leading product, offering significantly lower wholesale costs, key decision support, aggressive pricing, more efficient routing and greater time to market for clients such as TeliaSonera, Eircom, Wind, Telecom Egypt, VimpelCom and now UTS. Together with Intec Interconnect v7, the two systems will complement the existing InterconnecT ITU installation and will streamline business operations at UTS, thus improving operational efficiency. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2007.
