Y-Tel International, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: YTLI), a provider of telecommunications, VoIP and Wi-Fi services and devices, announced today it is developing a new business model for FY 2006 enabling the company to emerge as a leading provider in the Wi-Fi Internet Service industry.
Mr. John Conroy, CEO, commented, “This new strategy will lay the framework for launching our retail products. With the network deployed in selected cities around the country, we can roll out various voice solutions within our own Wi-Fi network, such as Wi-Fi phones, and ATA devices. The key to success is the technology utilized within the network.”
Y-Tel has been testing a mesh network in Nacogdoches, Texas for several months and concluded mesh is not the best solution for providing wireless broadband internet services. Mr. Conroy stated, “We have discovered a much better solution utilizing non line of sight (NLOS) wireless technology in the unlicensed spectra (2.4 GHz range).” The technology includes the use of base stations along with proprietary high gain antenna technology using an industry standard Wi-Fi platform. The advantages of this Wi-Fi broadband solution include:
— Decreased networking complexity
— Reduction in cabling and electrical drops
— Minimal channel management problems and interference
Y-Tel is currently negotiating with the selected Wi-Fi equipment manufacturer and is planning to launch its first Wi-Fi Internet Service network in the next few months.
